Sampson County, NC - Wills - Bryan King, March 22, 1835 ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Bryan King's Last Will & Testament, 1835 May Term 1835 Recorded in Will Docket Pages 165 & 166 Thomas J. Faison Clk In the name of God Amen I Bryan King being of sound mind & perfect memory blessed be God for his mercies do this day in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred & thirty five make & ordain this my last Will & Testament in manner following that is to say 1st I give my soul to God 2nd I give & bequeath to my beloved wife Polly King all the property that she brought here when I married her together with my Negro boy Irvin & one hundred & fifty Dollars as cash she is to have sd boy during of her lifetime & if the sd boy Irvin should be the longest liver that he shall be sold & equally divided between my two sons Barney & Henry 3rd I give to my daughter Clarisey my Negro woman Priss one hundred & fifty dollars in cash one bed & its furniture & one stand of curtains 4th I give my daughter Sally my Negro woman Lucy one hundred & fifty dollars in cash one bed & its furniture & one stand of curtains 5th I give & bequeath to my son Barney my Negro woman Rachel. I also give to my son Henry my Negro boy Ned. I also give to my two sons the land whereon I now live to be divided so as to give Barney fifty acres more than Henry but Henry is to have the house lot beginning at the mouth of the Branch at the Swamp & runs with a due course to the back line next to Ed Bradshaw I have all my perishable estate to be sold & after paying my debts & expenses the proceeds to be equally divided between my four children Clarisey Barney Sally & Henry And if the crop should be planted before my decease it is my desire that all should continue together to finish the crop & if it is the wish of Polly to brake up house keeping then this crop to be sold & equally divided between Polly & the four children and if she continues to keep the children together for them to enjoy all they make I also wish for Arch to be sold by my Executors to the best advantages & the money distributed as above named I also nominate my friend J.L.
