A previous typed transcription was found among the papers in possession of my mother who lives in Monroe, Louisiana. She had apparently obtained this previous transcription from someone else years ago? It does not reference a Will Book or page number from Sampson County, North Carolina? NOTE 2: See end of this document. Will of Peter Lee, Sr., of the County of Sampson, and State of North Carolina, being of sound and perfect mind and memory, Blessed be God: do this 28th day of January 1804, make and publish this my last will and testament in the manner following, that is to say: FIRST: I give and bequeath to my well beloved son PETER LEE, five hundred and fifty acres of land on the west side of Great Cohary, lying on the Gum Branch, to him and his heirs forever. I give and bequeath to my beloved son BURCHET LEE, a part of my land on which I live: Bell's Branch to be the dividing line to the upper prong, thence the upper prong to an old feild (called the Old Feald) to a marked pine in D's feald, thence cross the old feald along the marked trees to my own line, thence to my line to the mouth of Bell Branch, the upper part to BURCHET, to him and his heirs forever. I give and bequeath to my beloved son LUNDAY LEE, the loer part of my land and plantation whereon I live, to the above marked trees, to him and his heirs forever. I give and bequeath to my beloved sons BURCHET LEE and LUNDAY LEE, one hundred and fifty acres of land that NATHAN WILL -- and GEORGE LASSITER entered to dividing line to begin at my upper corner of my land, oposite the upper and off corner of ROBIN LASSISTER field, thence strate across the inmost part next to COHEARY, to LUNDAY LEE, and the other part to BURCHET LEE, to them and their heirs forever. ALSO: I grant and bequeath to my beloved sons: BURCHET AND LUNDAY LEE, One hundred acres of land lying in the Maple Feald, and to equally divided between them two, to them and their heirs forever. I give and bequeath to my beloved dauther; JANE LEE AND SAMPSON LEE: fifty pounds currency and one feather bed which have possistion, to them and their heirs forever. I give and bequeath to my beloved daugther, REBECCA LEE THOMPSON and THOMAS THORNTON, fifty pounds currency and one feather bed and furniture which they now have in possistion, to them and their heirs forever. Sheet II: I give and bequeath to my beloved son: BATT LEE three hundred and twenty dollars, one feather bed and furniture which he has in his possessition, to him and his heair forever. I give and bequeath to my beloved sons: DAVID LEE AND BURCHETT LEE Fifteen pounds to each one after my death, together with all that I have given aforetime to them and their heirs forever. I give and bequeath to my beloved sons: PETER LEE, my largest chest, home, shew hammer, and one feather bed and furniture that he now has in his possession, to him and his heirs forever. I give and bequeath to my beloved daughter: MARY HILL AND BENNETT HILL, one feather bed and furiture which they now have in possession, to them and their heirs forever. I lend to my beloved daughter; MARY HILL, one Negro girl named LUCY, her natural life and after her death, I give LUCEY and her increase to MARY HILL'S sons and daughters lawfully begotten of her body, to them and their heirs forever. I give and bequeath to my beloved daughter: BETSEY HANDLEY AND JAMES HANDLEY, one feather bed and furniture which they now have in possession, to them and their heirs forever. I lend: to my beloved daughter: BETSEY HANDLEY One Negro girl named Charlot, her natural lifetime, and after her death I give Charlot and her increase to BETSEY HANDLEY'S sons and daughters, lawfully begotten of her body to them and their heirs forever. I give and bequeath to my beloved daughter: PENNY MCCONDEKE AND JOHN MCCONDEKE one feather bed and furniture that they have now in their possession, to them and their heirs forever. I lend: To my beloved daughter, PENNY MCCONDEKE, one Negro girl named ALLEY, her natural life time and after her death I give ALLEY and her increase to PENNY MCCONDEKE's sons and daughters lawfully begotten of her body, to them and their heirs forever. I give and bequeath to my beloved sons and daughter: to wit: DAVID, CATA, JANE, REBECCA, BURCHETT, BATT, PETER, MARY, BETSEY, PENNY and LUNDAY: (11) All the rest of my estate together with six hundred and forty acres of land on Mill Creek, in Johnston County, to be sold and equally divided to them and their heirs forever. I give and bequeath to my beloved sons my wearing appearril to them and their heirs forever. I humbly requeast and desire after my death, my Negroes may not be sold nor disperst out of my family but that the Honorable Court now sitting will grant that my executors may value and lot them out amongst my heirs and as the Lord may direct, and I hereby make and ordain my worthy friend SAMPSON LEE AND DAVID LEE executors of this my last will and testament. In witness of this my last will and Testament whereof I, the said PETER LEE, Sr., have set my hand and seal this day and year above written.
