                       Last Will and Testament of Owen Vann
                           Son of Thomas and Judith Vann

In the name of God, Amen - 
           I OWEN VANN of the State of N. Carolina and County of Sampson, being 
of Sound & perfect & mind & memory & of good and disposing mind; But feeble in 
health & Knowing that it is appointed to al to die, do make & ordain this my 
last Will and Testament in manner & form as follows.
Viz-
          First I give my body to the dust to be buried in a decent manner & 
commend my soul to Him who gave it, as a Being infinitely wise & good.

          As for my worldly goods my Will is that they be disposed of as follows 
-Viz
First I give & bequeath unto my sister CHARITY VANN, the sum of Four Hundred 
Dollars to be paid to her by my executor as soon as convenient - after my Just 
debts & funeral expenses are paid - And in Case She, the said CHARITY VANN 
should die without bodily heirs, then the said Sum of Four Hundred Dollars or 
whatever may remain thereof at her decease to be given to my Brother DANIEL 
VANN-

2nd I give & devise unto my Nephew GEORGW D. MOORE, the Sum of Three Hundred 
Dollars, to be paid to him by my Executor, when he the said GEORGW D. MOORE 
shall arrive at the full age of twenty one Years old.

3rd. I give devise & bequeath unto my brother DANIEL VANN, the lands whereon I 
resided consisting of about One Hundred & thirty five acres, more or less - 
lying on the Northern & Western Side of the Six Runs river- adjoining the lands 
of OWEN H. JOHNSON, the heirs of JOHN RACKELY deceased  7 others. To him the 
said DANIEL VANN  & his heirs & assigns in fee simple- I also give & bequeath 
unto my Said brother DANIEL VANN, all my stock of Cattle, Horses, Hogs & Sheep - 
plantation tools, house hold & kitchen furniture, money notes & all other 
personal goods of whatever name & description of which I may die seized & 
possessed - provided said DANIEL VANN Shall pay all my Just debts funeral 
expenses & the legacies mentioned in the former part of this instrument, and 
Shall provide all necessaries & conveniences for me for and during my natural 
life.

4th I also hereby make constitute & appoint my brother DANIEL VANN Executor of 
this my last Will & Testament with full power to execute the same according to 
the true extent & meaning thereof.

Signed Sealed Published &  Declared by the Testator To be the last Will & 
Testament & hereby revoking all former Wills in presence of us, who witnessed 
the Same in presence of the Testators & each other.

On motion a paper writing purporting to be the last Will & Testament of OWEN 
VANN was proposed for probate by DANIEL VANN the Executor therein named and the 
due Execution there of being proved by the Oath of W. L. ROBINSON and JOHN  H 
SPEARMAN the Subscribing witnesses there of the same is declared sufficient to 
process real and personal property and admitted to probate and ordered to be 
recorded And it is further the Said executor therein named having now duly 
qualified letters testamentary proven this Court.
