The Morning Star, Wilmington, NC –  Fri 11/7/1890
Lumberton Robesonian:
Mr. James Lytch, of Richmond county,
father of Mr. Milton Lytch, of Row-
land, was killed last Thursday at Mr.
Joel Parrish’s mill, on Little Pee Dee. 
His horse backed off of the bridge over
which he was driving and he was pre-
cipitated in the river, the horse falling
upon him.  He lived only about three
hours.  Deceased was about seventy-
four years old, and was a prominent and
good citizen.
