The Morning Star, Wilmington, NC –  Th 10/30/1890
Maxton Union:
We learn that a man by the name of Ray
shot one McLeod at John’s Station, on
the C. F. & Y. V. R. R., Thursday night,
and that McLeod died in about twenty-
four hours.  Ray has made his escape. 
They were both white men and were
drinking at the time of the difficulty.
