Additional Comments: There are other headstones in the filed which are field rock or slate with the lettering scratched into the stones. Many stones, if they at one time had markings they are no longer ledgible. The first 9 lines are as I was able to read and record. The lines beginning with John Hartsell, Sr. my N. C. pioneer ancestor (line # 10) are from Eunice L. Hartsell Sechler's book 'A Hartsell-Hirtel History and Genealogy of Four Hundred Twelve Years.' Permission was granted by her husband Norman Sechler, to published information from this book. Some dates are from my lineage chart given to me by Richard Groaner, a Kannapolis researcher.
