Rowland Obit Page Four-B Deaths and Funerals J.Q. Rowland Albemarle - John Quincy Rowland, 70, of Rt. 3, died at 8:50 p.m. Funeral services will be conducted at 3 p.m. today at Salem Methodist Church by Rev. Robert G. Russell Jr. and Rev. Sam Leslie. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The body was taken from Hartsell Funeral Home, Albemarle, to the home of a daughter, Mrs. Tom Safrit, at Mr. Pleasant, Saturday afternoon and will remain there until taken to the church to lie in state half an hour prior to the rites. Mr. Rowland was born in Stanly County, son of the late Andrew Jackson Rowland and Mrs. Tina Lowder Rowland. He was a member of Salem Methodist Church. Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Barbara L. Rowland; two sons, Winfred and Theodore Rowland, both of Concord; two daughters, Mrs. Joshua Burris of Oakboro and Mrs. Tom Safrit of Mt. Pleasant; two brothers, Isaac and Fred Rowland, both of Albemarle; three sisters, Mrs. Moses O’Donohue of Mt. Holly, Mrs. Alonzo Crayton of Locust, and Mrs. Gertie Honeycutt of Kannapolis; and 13 grandchildren.
