David Alexander. Graveside rites were conducted at 3 p.m. by DAV Team at Whiteville Memorial Cemetery in Whiteville. Mr. Queen died at 10:10 p.m. Monday in Charlotte Memorial Hospital after one week illness. He was born February 14,1924, in Cowpens, South Carolina, and was a son of the late Claude Calvin and Minnie Jane Martin Queen. He was a member of Westminster Presbyterian Church in Whiteville, a retired veteran of the United States Air Force,a member of Masonic Lodge 1268 in Schentz, Texas, a 32nd degree Scottish Rite Mason, and a Shriner, a member of Sudan Temple of New Bern, Scottish Rite Mason, and a Shriner, a member of Sudan Temple of New Bern. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Melvia Phillips Queen of the home; three brothers Herschel C. Queen of Nags Head, Onald D. Queen of Chesapeake, Virginia, and Jack R. Queen of Suffolk, Virginia; a sister, Mrs. Hazel Scheidt of Beaufort, South Carolina; and one grandson, Patrick Shannon Queen. Pallbearers were Jim Parrish, Floyd Culp, Simp Powell Charlie Higgins,Glenn McDonald and Cordell Wheeler. Honorary pallbearers were co-workers at Federal Pacific. Memorials may be made to Crippled Children's Fund, Sudan Temple, New Bern N.C.
