To any Ordained Minister of any Religious Denomination, or any Justice 
of the Peace of said County:
R.M. Carter having applied to me for a License for the Marriage of 
Himself of Stanly County, N.C., age 28 years, color, white, the son of 
J.E. Carter and Nancy Carter, the father now living, the mother dead, 
resident of Rowan County
And Maggie Cranford of Stanly County, age 28 years, color, white, 
daughter of Love Cranford and Mary Cranford, the father now living, the 
mother dead, resident of Stanly County, North Carolina.

State of North Carolina, Stanly County.
I, (unreadable) a Justice of the Peace united in matrimony R.M. Carter 
and Maggie Cranford the parties licensed above, on the 25 day of Oct. 
1891 at New London in Harris Township, in said County, according to 
law.
