I, Henry Marshall of the county of Stanly do make my last will and testament as follows: First: I give to my former servant, Elick, my bay mule as a reward for his faithfulness to me Secondly: I direct my executor herinafter named to sell all the balance of my estate both real and personal, embracing land, stock and everything else belongiong to me, and the proceeds from said sale to be equally divided between children now living of my son, Henry Marshall, My said grandchildren now living in Missouri provided they apply for the same within the time limited by law for legatees. Lastly: I appoint my son Joseph Marshall, executor of this my last will and testament expecting him to carry out the above provisions of my will.
