Entered railway service 1870, since which he has been consecutively to 1871, 
rodman engineer corps Mobile & Ohio Rd;
1871, freight clerk and ticked agent at Macon, Miss.;
1872 to 1873, ticket clerk and in charge of agent's accounts auditor's office 
Mobile & Ohio Rd at Mobile, Ala.;
1873 to Sept. 1875, car accountant and miscellaneous duties superintendent's 
office same road;
Sept. 1, 1875 to Sept. 1881, freight and ticket agent same road at 
Corinth, Miss.;
Sept. 1881 to July 1883, agent same road at Cairo, Ill.;
July 1883 to May 1884, southwestern agent Richmond & Danville Rd at 
Atlanta, Ga.;
May 1884 to Feb. 1887, assistant general passenger agent same road;
Sept. 1887 to Dec. 1889, general freight and ticket agent Georgia 
Midland & Gulf Rd;
Dec 1889, appointed general freight agent Savannah & Western division 
Central of Georgia Rd;
Oct. 1891 to Feb. 1892, general agent Kansas City, Ft. Scott & Memphis Rd 
at Atlanta, Ga.;
Feb. 1892 to Feb. 1894, assistant general freight agent same road;
Feb. to July 15, 1894, general freight and passenger agent Savannah Americus & 
Montgomery Rd;
July 15, 1894 to July 1, 1896, general manager Georgia Midland & Gulf Rd;
July 1, 1896 to April 1897, superintendent same road under its lease to the 
Southern Ry;
April 1897 to Aug. 1898, successively southeastern agent at Atlanta, Ga., and 
general agent at Montgomery, Ala., Georgia & Alabama Ry;
Sept. 1, 1898 to July 1901, commercial agent Central of Georgia Ry at 
Columbus, Ga.;
July 1901 to Aug. 1911, division freight and passenger agent same road at 
Chattanooga, Tenn.
