Diana now complains that HASSOLD intended to defraud her. Bottom of document is very light, but the sense of it is that HASSOLD owes money that he refuses to repay. 15 Aug 1695. Apprentice Papers—1695, 1697, 1726, 1736 • [Handwriting very hard to read]: Top of page: Petition of Elizabeth ?LOWSON that her 3 children, Mary, Jno., and William be given indentures until they come of age—21 for the 2 sons, and 18 or marriage for the daughter. Robert [R] and Prudence [P] GARRIT and Benjamon [B] MASSEON all signed with a mark. 9 Jan 1697. [Note: This clearly indicates that Robert and Prudence are married, and John is “their son,” but in several places John’s last name is given as HALLAM. This does not appear to be a middle name, because on the back the document says, “The indenture of John HALLAM.”-sbg] • Indenture between Thomas HAUGHTON, talor, of Yawpin, and Henry NORMAN, cooper, of Pequimons, binding T. HAUGHTON’s son Richard HAUGHTON to NORMAN for a period of 3 years to learn the Cooper’s trade. NORMAN will provide R.
