Instructions of Lord Granville to Agents in No. Car. 1744, 1756 • Long document is addressed to Granville’s new agent to Carolina, Joshua BODLEY and his current agent Francis CORBIN, and concerns establishing records to account for rents, taxes, etc. Refers to an episode in which CORBIN suspended Mr. DISBRONE from the place of first clerk, and DISBRONE’s appeal; asks BODLEY to look into this. Overall tone implies that Granville is not satisfied with CORBIN’s performance. 1 Sept 1756 • Typed transcript of document appointing Mr. CORBIN as agent of Lord Granville in the Carolinas. Refers to Mr. MOSELEY as the contact for CORBIN. Various dates typed in margins, from 12 Sept-14 Novr. 1744.
