State-Wide, NC - David Shults Land Grant, 1790 DAVID SHULTS - 50 ACRES - EASTERN DISTRICT, NC - 1790 ==================== David Shults Grant, Regist. 15 June 1792 State of North Carolina No. 15 To all to whom these presents shall come Greeting ~ Know ye that we for and in consideration of the sum fifty shillings for every hundred acres of land hereby granted paid into our treasury by David Shults have given and granted and by these presents do give and grant unto the said David Shults a tract of land containing fifty acres lying and being in our Eastern District on the south side of Holston River on the waters of Honeycutt Creek Beginning on Mark Mitchell’s east line at a pine and white oak thence with said line one hundred and twenty six poles to a popular near a Branch thence north thirty six poles to a dogwood sapling on Dodson's west, and then along said line thirty six poles to two black gums on the road then north fifteen west eighty poles to a pine then down and west twenty seven poles to a pine and from thence a straight course to the beginning. As by the plat hereunto Annexed doth appear together with all woods, waters, mines, minerals hereditaments and appurtenances to the said land belonging or appertaining to hold to the said David Shults his heirs and assigns forever yielding and paying to us such sums of [money] yearly or otherwise as our General Assembly from time to time may assess Provided always that the said David Shults shall cause this grant to be registered in the registrars office of our said Eastern District within twelve months from the date hereof otherwise the same shall be void and of no effect. In testimony whereof we have caused this our letters to be made patent, and our Great Seal to be hereunto affixed Witness Alex. Martin, Esquire and Governor Captain General and commander in chief at Fayetteville the seventhteenth day of November in the fifteen year of our independence and in the year of our Lord one thousand seven hundred and ninety.
