Received, NewBern, North Carolina, May 30th, 1785, of Ebenezer Jackson, Asst. 
Com'r Army Accts., three certificates signed by John Pierce, Esquire, dated 
1st February last, and numbered from 89,395 to 89,397 inclusive, on interest 
from 15th November, 1783, amounting in the whole to four thousand, one hundred 
and seventy-one 45-90 Dollars, being in full the balance of commutation due 
Lt. Colo. Comdt. James Thaxton, late of the North Carolina line, who retired 
on half pay the first of January, 1783, all which certificates I do hereby 
promise to deliver immediately to the said Col. Thaxton.

4,171 45-90 Dollars.
