Com'r Army Accts., three final settlement certificates signed by John Pierce, Esquire, Commissioner, dated 1st February last, and numbered from 89,414 to 89,416 inclusive, on interest from 15th November, 1783, amounting in the whole to three thousand dollars, being in full for commutation to Lt. Col. William Davidson, late of North Carolina line, who retired from service under the Resolution of Congress of the 21st October, 1780, except six hundred dollars, being a part of his commutation retained in the hands of the public as there are public monies charged to him for the Recruiting Service, for which he has not accounted for to the public, all which certificates I do hereby promise to deliver to the persons legally appointed to administer upon the Estate of the deceased so that the Lawful Heirs may come at their just right. 3,000 Dollars.
