Stokes County, NC - Davis-Fulton Family Bibles ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Bible record of Wilson Fulton and his wife Mary Ann Davis of Stokes Co, NC and Texas Background: This document is a part of the Bible records of Mary Ann Davis, wife of Wilson Fulton and consist of two parts. The first is a copy of the James Davis family record in the hand of Mary Ann's father James Davis. The second is from Wilson and Mary Ann Fulton's Bible; probably in the hand of Wilson Fulton. The Fultons left Stokes County, North Carolina in 1860 with a group of friends and relations to settle in the Red River Valley of Texas. The Fultons initially settled near Waxahatchie, Ellis County, Texas at a place called Crystal Springs. After the Civil War the family removed to Coryell County. Many of Wilson's children settled in Lampasas and after his death his wife Mary Ann settled at Lometa in Lampasas County. This copy is in the hand of James Davis and was probably made for his daughter before her departure. This copy is in better condition than the original Davis family record and is an important document corroborating the legible dates.
