Stokes, NC 1850 Federal Census

TRANSCRIBER'S NOTE:
1. The enumerator left the last two lines of each page blank.
2. Several times, he skipped dwelling or family numbers or used the same 
    number twice.  This has been noted in the remarks column.
3. Where there seems to be an obvious mistake (i.e. sex is F when the 
    name suggests M), it has been noted in the remarks column.
4. On page 120a of the census, the enumerator started using ditto (") marks
    in the occupation column. I assumed this referred to the last time
    an occupation was listed.  However, in some places, this did not
    seem to hold true.  For instance, on page 142b, line 13 has farmer,
    line 14 has Basketmaker, lines 21, 23, 31, 33, 38, and 40 had ditto
    marks. I assumed the enumerator meant farmer and possibly inserted
    basketmaker at a later time.
