STATE OF NORTH CAROLINA   COURT OF PLEAS & QUARTER SESSIONS   STOKES  
COUNTY                March    Term, 1847

MARTHA BANNER

         VS. 

JOHN D. SALMONS and wife and others

Petition for Dower

It appearing to the satisfaction of the Court that one of  the defendants, ,  
is  not an  inhabitant of this State: It is therefore ordered by the Court 
that publication be made for six successive weeks in the Patriot, printed in 
Greensboro, for  the said defendant, to be notified  to  appear at our next 
Court of Pleas & Quarter Sessions to be held for the County of Stokes in the 
Court House at Germanton,  on the 2nd Monday in June next , then and there to 
plead, answer or demur. Otherwise, judgment will be taken pro confesso and 
heard ex parte.
Witness, JOHN HILL , Clerk of said Court, at office in Germanton, on the 2nd  
Monday in March  A.D., 1847.
