STATE OF NORTH CAROLINA   COURT OF EQUITY   STOKES  COUNTY
August   Term, 1844

NANCY R. BOYLES, widow of WILLIAM BOYLES, deceased

         VS. 

FREDERICK FRANCIS and ELIZABETH, his wife; SARAH FRANCIS, NANCY BOYLES and the 
children and grandchildren of JAMES BOYLES, deceased, to wit:
JOEL BOYLES, JAMES BOYLES and two infant children of said deceased child of 
said JAMES BOYLES, deceased

Petition for Dower

It appearing to the satisfaction of the Court that the defendants, FREDERICK 
FRANCIS and ELIZABETH, his wife; SARAH FRANCIS, NANCY BOYLES and the children 
and grandchildren of JAMES BOYLES, deceased, to wit: JOEL BOYLES, JAMES BOYLES 
and two infant children of said deceased child of said JAMES BOYLES, 
deceased ,  are not inhabitants of this State: It is therefore ordered by the 
Court that publication be made for six successive weeks in the Patriot, 
printed in Greensboro, for  the said defendants, to be notified  to  appear at 
our next Court `to be held for the County of Stokes in the Court House at 
Germanton,  on the 2nd Monday after the 4th  Monday in September, 1844,  then 
and there to plead, answer or demur. Otherwise, the petition will be taken pro 
confesso and heard ex parte.
Witness, F. FRIES, Clerk and Master, at office, on the 19th of August A. D., 
1844.
