April Term, 1846

JOHN JAMES and others

         VS. 

TANDY MATHEWS, Administrator of JAMES MATHEWS and BETSY JAMES


Original bill for Settlement of the estate of JAMES MATHEWS, deceased

It appearing to the satisfaction of the Court that  two of the defendants, 
JOHN MATHEWS and BETSY JAMES,   are not inhabitants of this State: It is 
therefore ordered by the Court that publication be made for six successive 
weeks in the Patriot, printed in Greensboro, for  the said defendants, to be 
notified  to  appear at our next Court `to be held for the County of Stokes in 
the Court House at Germanton,  on the 2nd  Monday after the 4th  Monday in 
September next, then and there to plead, answer or demur. Otherwise, the 
petition will be taken pro confesso and heard ex parte.
Witness, F. FRIES, Clerk and Master of said Court, at office, on the 25th of 
April, 1846
