FRANCES ABBOT, JOHN REDDECK and his wife, ALICE; JACOB ABBOT; WILLIAM ABBOT; 
JOEL FULTIN and his wife, FRANCES; HENRY BURTON and his wife, ELIZABETH; 
FEWELL FULLEN and his wife, JANE; and SAMUEL FULTIN, Guardian for JOHN J. ABBOT

        Vs.

JAMES BOWMAN and his wife, POLLY; and DAVIS ABBOT

Petition for Division of Slaves

It is ordered by the Court that publication be made for six successive weeks 
in the Patriot, printed in Greensboro, for JAMES BOWMAN and his wife, POLLY; 
and DAVIS ABBOT, defendants, to be notified to appear at our next Court of 
Pleas & Quarter Sessions to be held for the County of Stokes in the Court 
House at Germanton, on the 2nd Monday in March, 1841, then and there to plead, 
answer or demur. Otherwise, the petition will be taken pro confesso and heard 
ex parte as to them. 

Witness, REUBEN D. GOLDING, Clerk of said Court, at office in Germanton, on 
the 2nd Monday in December, A.D., 1840.
