STATE OF NORTH CAROLINA   COURT OF PLEAS & QUARTER SESSIONS   STOKES  COUNTY   
September Term, 1847            

WILLIAM KING

         VS. 

ALEX’R. WATSON deceased, and JAMES WATSON

Justice’s judgment and execution levied on the land of ALEXANDER WATSON before 
his death.

It appearing to the satisfaction of the Court that the  defendants, JOHN 
WATSON and the heirs at law of ALEXANDER WATSON, deceased, HUGH LAVENDER and 
his wife, MARY,  are not  inhabitants of this State: It is therefore ordered 
by the Court that publication be made for six successive weeks in the Patriot, 
printed in Greensboro, for  the said defendant, to be notified  to  appear at 
our next Court of Pleas & Quarter Sessions to be held for the County of Stokes 
in the Court House at Germanton,  on the 2nd Monday in December next , then 
and there to plead, answer or demur. Otherwise judgment will be heard  pro 
confesso and will be taken against them and an order of sale granted to sell 
the land levied on to satisfy the plaintiff’s debt. 
Witness, JOHN HILL , Clerk of said Court, at office in Germanton, on the 2nd  
Monday in September  A.D., 1847.
