NC Deed Book 10 page 458 07 Dec. 1833 This indenture made the 07 Dec.1833 between John Barr of the County of Stokes in the State of North Carolina of the one part and Bird Wall of the County of Stokes and State of North Carolina on the other part. Witnessed that the said John Barr for and in consideration of the sun of $300.00 to him in hand paid by the said Bird Wall, the receipt where of the said John Barr doth hereby acknowledges, hath given granted bargained sold issued and confirmed and by these presents doth your grant, bargain sell alien and confirm unto the said Bird Wall his heirs and assigns forever, all that tract piece or parcel of land situated lying and being in the County of Stokes aforesaid on both sides of Rocky branch of Ruff fork containing 94 acres by computations be the same more or less bounded as follows (to wit). Beginning: At a Black Oak the original SE corner of said Tract of land on the E side of said branch, running west on the old line crossing the branch 34º chains to a black Jack, N on Henry Moserís line 29‡ chains to his corner white oak, W. 2‡ chains to a Spanish Oak on a hillside, N. 7‡ chains to a pine hickory, E. 7‡ chains to a poplar by Pheasant branch, S. 3‡ to a white oak old corner, E. 7 chains to a chestnut at Pheasant branch thence down the meanders of said branch with Bittings line __º chains to two small dogwoods near a white oak thence, S. 53 degrees E. 4 chains to a stake, S. 19 degrees E. 5º chains to a post in a swamp?, N. 72 degrees E. 2‡ chains to a large rock at Rocky branch, E. 7æ chains to a small maple, S. 7 chains to a black oak, E. 5 chains to a white oak in Daníl Walls line thence, S. on his line to the beginning. Including the house & plantation whereon the said John Barr now lives. And also all the Woods-ways, waters and water courses, and all and every the appetencies hereunto belonging or in anywise appertaining, and the revision and reversions, remainder and remainders, ____ issues and profits of the aforesaid lands & premises and every part thereof and all the estate rights, title interests, claims property and demand whatsoever of the said John Bar, of in and to the land and premises hereby granted, To have and to hold the aforesaid lands and premises with the appurtenances unto the said Bird Wall his heirs and assigns to the proper use and belief of the said Wall his heirs and assigns forever. And the said John Barr for himself and his heirs the aforesaid lands & premises and every part thereof against him and his heirs and against the claim or claims of all and every other person or persons whatsoever to the said Bird Wall his heirs and as assigns shall and will forever warrant and defend by these presents.
