This Indenture made this the 12th day of March in the year of our Lord One Thousand Eight hundred and Twenty one Between Joseph CREWS & Elizabeth his wife, Asa BENNETT and Rebecca his wife all of Stokes County and the state of North Carolina of the one part and Michael FAIR of the same place of the other part. Witnesseth, that whereas Jacob ROBINSON late of the said County, deceased, by his last will & testament (which said last will and testament was duly proven in the County Court of Stokes at March Term 1820) did devise and bequeath unto his three Daughters, Viz., Elizabeth wife of Joseph CREWS, Rebecca wife of Asa BENNETT and Mary wife of Michael FAIR, to them and their heirs forever the Tract or parcel of land hereinafter described lying and being in Stokes County aforesaid situate on a Branch of the middle fork of Blues Creek and bounded as follows, viz., Beginning at pointers William ROBINSON's corner thence west forty poles to a while Oak ARNETT's corner thence South one hundred & fourteen poles to a black oak near the mill road thence East sixty-four poles to a black Jack HARROLD's corner thence North one hundred and seventy six poles to pointers Sowell FRAZIER's corner thence East one hundred and thirty eight poles to a pile of stones FRAZIER's corner thence North one hundred and nine poles to a black oak J. VOSS' corner thence East seventy four poles to pointers said Michael FAIR's corner thence North fifty degrees West one hundred and fifty two poles to two Chestnuts thence South sixty seven degrees West sixty six poles to a pile of stones in an old Field thence North fifty nine degrees West forty nine poles to a post oak thence South eighty four poles to a Stake thence East fifty two poles to a Stone thence North Twenty one degrees East thirty four poles to a Mulberry thence South forty nine degrees East thirty six poles to a Stone thence South thirty one degrees West sixty eight poles to an hickory and thence South to the beginning. Containing two hundred and forty six acres and one hundred and twenty four poles be the same more or less. Now they the said Joseph CREWS & Elizabeth his wife and Asa BENNETT and Rebecca his wife for and in consideration of the just and full sum of four hundred dollars to them in hand paid by him the said Michael FAIR the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged by them the said Joseph CREWS & Elizabeth his wife and Asa BENNETT and Rebecca his wife and themselves therewith contented have given granted bargained sold & made over and by these presents doth give grant bargain sell and make over in fee simple unto him the said Michael FAIR his heirs and assigns forever two undivided third parts of the above defined land & premises it being the shares parts and quotas of the said Elizabeth and Rebecca of the aforesaid land & premises agreeable to the last will & testament of their said Father, viz., Jacob ROBINSON late of said County, deceased, and they the said Joseph CREWS and Elizabeth his wife and Asa BENNETT and Rebecca his wife doth covenant and agree to and with him the said Michael FAIR that he the said Michael FAIR his heirs and assigns shall & may forever hereafter peaceably and quietly have hold occupy possess and enjoy the two undivided third parts of the above described land and premises free and clear from the hindrance molestation or encumbrance of any person or persons whatever and further they the said Joseph CREWS & Elizabeth his wife and Asa BENNETT and Rebecca his wife their heirs, executors and administrators the aforesaid two undivided third parts of the above mentioned land and premises with all and singular the rights titles privileges appurtenances & improvements and every part and article of the said two undivided third parts of the aforesaid land and premises belonging or in any wise appertaining unto him the said Michael FAIR his heirs & assigns shall & will warrant and forever defend against the lawful claims & demands of all persons whatsoever. In Testimony whereof they the said Joseph CREWS and Elizabeth his wife and Asa BENNETT and Rebecca his wife have hereunto set their hand and affixed their seals date above written.
