Helsabeck and Nancy J. Helsabeck, his wife of Stokes County, State of North Carolina of the first part to R. A. Helsabeck of Stokes County, State of North Carolina of the second part witnesseth, That the said party of the first part in consideration Fifty (50) dollars, to them paid by the party of the second part, the receipt of which is hereby acknowledged that said party of the first part have bargained, sold, conveyed and confirmed unot the party of the second part and to his heirs and assigns, all the right, title, interest and estate of and to a piece of Land in said Stokes County on the waters of Muddy Creek adjoining the lands of Joseph H. Helsabeck said R. A. Helsabeck & others: Bounded as follows: To wit: Beginning at a stake and rock at a small branch in said R. A. Helsabeck's line at J. H. Helsabeck's corner and runs north up said branch with with his J. H. Hel sabecks line 4 chains to stake and rock. Thence S 89 degrees East a new line 12 chains and 50 links to a stake and rock. Thence South 4 chains to a stake in said R. A. Helsabeck's line Thence N 89 degrees west with his line to the Beginning containing 5 acres To have and to hold the hold the aforesaid piece of land with all privileges and appur- tenances thereto to said R. A. Helsabeck and to his heirs and assigns, to his only use and behavf forever: and we the party of the first part do hereby covenant that we a seized of said land in fee and have a legal right to convey the same in fee simple. That the same are free and clean from all incumbrances and that we will warrant and defend the title to the same against the claims of all persons whatsoever. Helsabeck his wife, this day personaly ap- peared before me and acknowledged the due execution of the within deed of conveyance and the said Nancy J. Helsabeck, being by me privately examined, separate and apart from her husband, touching her voluntary execution of the same, states that she signed the same freely and voluntarily without fear or compulsion of her said husband or any other person and that she still voluntarily assents thereto: Witness my hand and private seal This 10th day of October 1896.
