A. Helsabeck and N. J. Helsa- beck his wife of Stokes County and State of North Carolina of the first part to E. R. Shouse of said Stokes County and State of N. C. of the second part witnesseth that said party of first part in consideration of Twenty five (25) Dollars to them paid by E. R. Shouse the receipt of which is hereby acknowledged have bargained and sold and by these presents do bargain sell and convey to said E. R. Shouse and his heirs, all the right, title, interest and estate of the party of the first part in and to a certain tract or parcel of Land in Stokes County, State of N.C. adjoining the lands of said J. A. Helsabeck, J. M. Tuttle and acting and acting bounded as follows: wig. Beginning at the quaker road South west corner of Bectel Church lot and runs East on that line 4 chains to stake and pointers in Wm R. Muser's line. Thence South on that line passing his and J. M. Tuttle corner and said Tuttle's line 6 chains To a Sourwood in that line R. A. Helsabeck's corner Thence west on his line 4 chains to said quaker road. Thence North with said Road 5 chains and 88 links to the Beginning containing 2 4/10 acres. To have and to hold the aforesaid Land and all privilegs and appurtenances thereto belonging to the aforesaid E. R. Shouse and to his heirs and assigns to his only use and behoof forever: and the said J. A. Helsabeck & wife covenant that they are seiged of said previses in fee and have right to convey the same in fee simple that the same are free and clean from all incumbrances and that they will warrant and defend the said title to the same against the claim of all persons whatsoever. Helsabeck {seal} State of North Carolina, Stokes County I, J. S. D. Pulliam, Justice of the Peace do hereby certify that J. A. Helsabeck and N. J. Helsabeck his wife, personally appeared before me this day, and acknowledged the due execution of the witness deed of conveyance and the said N. J. Helsabeck being by me privately examined, separate and apart from her said husband touching her voluntary execution of the same doth state that she signed the same freely and voluntary without fear or compulsion of her husband or any acts person and that she doth still voluntarily assent thereto Witness my hand and private seal this 26 day of February A.D. 1900 J.
