Deed of Jacob Helsibeck to Joseph and Michael Doub This indenture made this twenty fifth day of January in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and forty Between Jacob Helsibeck of the one part and Joseph Doub and Michael Doub of the other part all of North Carolina Stokes County Witnesseth that the said Jacob Helsibeck for and in consideration of the sum two hundred and seventy six dollars to him in hand paid by the said Joseph Doub and Michael Doub at and before the sealing and dehaering hou of the receipt whereof the said Jacob Helsibeck doth hereby acknowledge and hereof doth forever acquit and forever discharge the said Joseph Doub and Michael Doub their heirs and assign and by these presents have granted bargained sold and conf- irmed and by these presents do grant bargain sell release and confirm unto the said Joseph Doub and Michael Doub and to their heirs and assigns a certain tract or tracts of land in said county and state aforesaid on the waters of the Yadkin river Bounded as follows the first tract Begining at a sloping white oak Gilberts old line runs thence north fifty five degrees west eighty six polls thence seventy five degrees west sixty polls thence south thirty two degrees west crossing a branch thirty six polls to a have bush in Wellbains spring Branch thence up the meauders of said Branch to an ash eighteen polls below Wellbains spring by estimation seventy five acres be the same more or less The second tract Begining at an ash in Wellbains spring branch runs south fifty degrees west fifteen chains to a post oak on Kelleys line north on the saw three and a half chains to a spanish oak west on his line thirty four and a half chains to a chestnut saplin near the road thence north twenty three degrees east thirty chains to two stakes in an old field thence south eighty degrees East twenty three and a quarter chains to a stake thence south thirty degrees west eight to a haw bush an said branch thence along the same branch as it meanders to the beginning containing by estimation ninety three acres bu the same more or less. The third tract Beginning at a stake on the north side of the road leading from Brooks ferry on the Yadkin river to Hauserloaein on the street of a town by the name of reiwna runs north thirty one degrees west fourteen polls to a stake on the road thence north thirty seven degrees west down said road thirty two polls to a stake on said Holders farm line thence north fifty nine degrees east on the sam twenty two polls to a black gum thence south twenty degrees east thirty polls thence north fifty nine degrees east twelve polls south thirty one degrees East fourteen polls to said road thence to the Beginning conta= ining four acres and one half be the same more or less to have and to hold the aforesaid tracts of land with all and singular the rents and profits thereof unto the said Joseph Doub and Michael Doub their heirs and assigns forever and the Jacob Helsibeck doth by these presents caueuant to and with the said Joseph Doub and Michael Doub their heirs and assigns that they shall hold possess and enjoy the above mentioned lands and premises against the lawful claims of all and every person what- soever claiming or to claim by from or undue us or any of us shall and will forever defend by these presents in Witness whereof the said Jacob Helsibeck to these presents doth set his hand and seal the day and year above written.
