The submitter has given permission to the USGenWeb Archives to store the file permanently for free access. ******************************************************************. 1845 Deed between Joseph Helsepeck and Solomon Spainhower This Indenture made on the eighth day of April AD one thousand Eight hundred and forty five between Joseph Helsepeck and his wife Susanna of the one part and Solomon Spainhower of the other part all of the county of Stokes and State of North Carolina Witnesseth that the said Joseph and his wife Susanna for and in consideration of the sum of fifty dollars to the said Joseph in hand paid by the Said Solomon at the time of executing these presents the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged have granted bargained sold aliened and confirmed and by these pres- ents do grant bargain sell alien and confirmed unto the Said Solomon his heirs and assigns a certain tract or parcel of land in the county of Stokes and State of North Carolina and bounded as follows Beginning at a hickory and Spanish oak the South west corner of an original survey of two hundred acres granted by the State to Jacob Spainhower and runs East eighty poles croping two branches to a small Hickory and Spanish oak thence north along the devision line two hundred poles to David Spainhowers corner stake in the old line thence west with said line eithty poles to the old corner post oak thence South along the old line two hundred poles to the beginning containing one hundred acres more or less to have and to hold the Said land and premises and all and Singular the temmerets houditaments and appartenances there unto belonging or in any wise opportaining to him the Said Solomon his heirs and assigns to his and their own proper use and behalf in fee Simple forever and the Said Joseph and his heirs all and Singular the premises hereby conveyed to the Said Solomon his heirs and assigns Shall and will warrant and forever defend from the lawful claim or claims of any and all persons whatsoever in Testimony whereof the Said Joseph and Susanna have hereunto set their hands and Seals the date first above written Joseph Hilsabeck {seal} his Susanah X Hilsabeck {seal} mark N Carolina the execution of the within deed was duly acknowledged before me by Joseph Hilsabeck & Susanah his wife in the presence of each other being the bargining in the within deed & thereupon the Said Susanah was by me examined separate & apart from her Said husband & she declared that she executed the Same freely & voluntarely & without constraint or compulsion of her Said husband or any other person & doth now apent thereto let it & this certificate be registered Apl 11th 1845 D.
