Written: July 19, 1794

Know ye that We for and in Consideration of the Sum of Ten pounds for every 
hundred acres hereby Granted paid into our Treasury by John Pitts, have given 
and Granted and by these presents do give and grant unto the said John Pitts a 
Tract of land containing two hundred and fifty Nine Acres on the head branch of 
Deep River in Our County of Stokes Beginning at Martha Pitts Corner in Guilford 
County line Runs North on the same 42 chains to pointers west falling on 
Pattersons line 28 Chains to his Corner post Oak South 51 degrees West 15 
chains to his Corner pointers West thirty chains & thirty one links to pointers 
south 32 chains to a stake in Martha Pitts line thence east to the beginning.
