Jacob ROBINSON/Benjamin JONES -- deed transcription by Jan Lawson. This Indenture made the seventh day of December in the year of our Lord One Thousand Seven Hundred Ninety Seven Between Benjamin JONES of Stokes County State of N. Carolina on the one part and Jacob ROBINSON of the same place of the other part. Witnesseth, that for an in Consideration of the sum of fifty pounds lawful money by said ROBINSON to the said JONES in hand paid hath Given and Granted & by these presents doth Give & Grant unto the said Jacob ROBINSON his heirs and assigns forever a certain tract of land in the county aforesaid on the Waters of Blewer Creek, Beginning at a post oak near the Tower Creek Road thence South to a red oak, East crossing said road to a black oak thence ninety North West till it strikes the road then following the road to the beginning. Containing sixty acres be the same more or less, conveyed to the said JONES by Mordeciah MINDENHALL by deed dated 3rd Aug. 1790 Registered in Stokes County Book A, page 88. To hold to the said Jacob ROBINSON his heirs & assigns forever and the said Ben. JONES doth for himself his heirs, et al, Covenant with said ROBINSON, that he the said ROBINSON his heirs and assigns shall forever have peaceable possession of the said land & premises without Molestation of any person whatever, clear from all encumbrances and the said Ben. JONES for himself his heirs, et al, the said land and premises unto the said Jacob ROBINSON his heirs & assigns Warrant and forever Defend against the Claim and Demand of all persons whatsoever. In Witness whereof the said Benjamin JONES has hereunto set his hand and seal the day & year above written. Signed: Benjamin (his mark) JONES.
