Charles ROBINSON/John GLASS -- deed transcription by Jan Lawson. This Indenture made the 25th day of October AD 1809 Between John GLASS of the County of Stokes State of N. Carolina of the one part and Charles ROBINSON of the same place of the other part. Witnesseth, that he the said John GLASS for and in consideration of the sum of one hundred and fifty pounds Current money of the said State to him in hand paid, by the said Charles ROBINSON, the receipt whereof the said John GLASS doth hereby acknowledge , hath Given, Granted, Bargained, Sold & made over in fee simple unto the said Charles ROBINSON his heirs and assigns forever a certain tract of land lying in said County on the Waters of Blues Creek, Beginning at a white oak thence East thirty seven chains to a white oak thence South twenty one chains to a hickory on a branch thence South Seventy degrees West Sixteen chains to a post oak, thence West twenty two chains to pointers and thence North to the beginning. Containing one hundred acres more or less. Being part of a tract of 500 acres Granted by the State to Robert WALKER, Esq., deceased, the said grant date 5th of Nov. 1784. And by the Executors of said WALKER conveyed to James WATKINS, Registered in Stokes, Book No. 5 folio (234). To have and to hold to the said Charles ROBINSON his heirs and assigns forever, with all rights, titles privileges and improvements therein to belonging, and he the said John GLASS, for himself his assigns, Executors & Administrators doth covenant and agree with said Charles ROBINSON his heirs and assigns shall and may forever hereafter peaceably and quietly hold, possess and enjoy, the aforesaid Granted Land & premises free and clear from the petty hindrance, Molestation or encumbrance from any person whatever and he the said John GLASS his heirs executors & Administrators doth oblige themselves, the aforesaid land and premises, with every ____ and ____ thereunto belong, unto the said Charles ROBINSON his heirs and assigns, to Warrant and forever defend against the Lawful claim or demand of all persons whatsoever. In Testimony whereof the said John GLASS hath hereunto set his hand and affixed his seal the day and year above written. Signed: John GLASS (seal).....Stokes County March Term 1810.
