Jacob ROBINSON to Elijah HARROLD - deed transcription by Jan Lawson This Indenture made the 8th day of Feb. AD 1807. Between Jacob ROBINSON of the County of Stokes State of N. Carolina of the one part and Elijah HARROLD of the County and State aforesaid of the other part. Witnesseth, that the said Jacob ROBINSON for and in Consideration of the sum of Ten pounds to him in hand paid by the said Elijah HARROLD the receipt whereof the said Jacob ROBINSON doth hereby acknowledge hath given granted bargained sold and delivered unto the said Elijah HARROLD his heirs & assigns forever a certain tract of land lying in the County of Stokes on the Waters of Muddy Creek, beginning at a black oak near a road the South West corner of a 50 acre survey, thence South on THOMPSON's line ten chains to a black oak HAILEY's former corner, thence North eighty degrees East, on said line thirty three chains crossing the Meadow branch to a post oak , thence West on HARROLD's line, and said ROBINSON's line, to the beginning. Containing Fifteen acres, With all the Right, Title, Claim and interest of the said Jacob ROBINSON of in and to the said Land and premises. To have and to hold to the said Elijah HARROLD his heirs and assigns forever. And the said Jacob ROBINSON doth for himself his heirs et al. covenant & agree with the said Elijah HARROLD, that he the said Elijah HARROLD his heirs and assigns, shall and may forever hereafter hold possess and Enjoy the aforesaid granted Land and premises with the appurtenances free and clear from all encumbrances whatever from the said Jacob ROBINSON his heirs Executors & Administrators, binding himself and every of them, and against all other persons to Warrant and forever Defend unto the said Elijah HARROLD his heirs and assigns forever. In Witness whereof the said Jacob ROBINSON hath hereunto set his hand and seal the day & year first above written. Acknowledged: Jacob ROBINSON (seal).....Stokes Co., NC., Court Dec. Term 1807.
