Jacob ROBINSON to William ROBINSON -- deed transcription by Jan Lawson. This Indenture made the thirtieth day of September in the year of our Lord one Thousand eight Hundred and Eighteen Between Jacob ROBINSON of Stokes County and State of North Carolina of the one part and William ROBINSON of the same place of the other part. Witnesseth, that the said Jacob ROBINSON for an in consideration of the sum of five hundred dollars the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged by the said Jacob ROBINSON and himself therewith fully satisfied and contented and said hath given granted bargained & sold and by these presents doth give grant bargain sell and make over in fee simple unto the said William ROBINSON his heirs and assigns forever a certain piece of land situate in Stokes County aforesaid lying on the waters of Belews creek and bounded as follows, Viz., Beginning at a post oak CAMPBELL's, WALKER's and Smith's corner thence South one Hundred and twenty four poles to a black jack CAMPBELL's corner in ARNETT's line, thence East one hundred and thirty four poles to pointers thence North sixty poles to a hickory thence North thirty one degrees East sixty eight poles to a stone in the field then North forty nine degrees West thirty six poles to a mulberry thence South thence South twenty degrees West to a stake in an old line, thence West on said line one hundred thirty four poles to the Beginning. Containing one Hundred and Thirteen acres be the same more or less, it being part of a tract of land granted by the State to Jacob ROBINSON which Grant is duly registered in the Registers Office of Stokes County in Book C Folio 154. To have and to hold unto the said William ROBINSON to the only proper use and behoof of the said William ROBINSON his heirs and assigns forever and he the said Jacob ROBINSON his heirs Executors and administrators doth covenant and agree that the said William ROBINSON his heirs et. al. shall and may forever hereafter peaceably and quietly have hold occupy possess and enjoy the above described land and premises with all and singular it rights titles claims an Interest free and clear from the encumbrance of all persons whatever and the said Jacob ROBINSON his heirs et. al. the aforesaid land with every part and article therewith belonging unto the said William ROBINSON his heirs or assigns shall and will Warrant and forever Defend against the lawful claims or demands of all persons whatsoever in testimony whereof he the said Jacob ROBINSON hath hereunto set his hand and affixed his seal the date above written. Deed Book 7, pg. 304). Note: 1.) William Robinson was the son of Jacob Robinson. Note: 2.) Michael Fair/Fare as witness in this deed is not designated as Michael Sr. or Jr. Could be either one. Most likely it was Michael Fair/Fare Sr. who had several children marry into this Robinson family.
