Friday, April 27, 1838, Patriot, Greensboro, N. C.
   The painful duty devolves on us to announce this week the melancholy death 
of another veteran hero of the Revolutionary War – JOSEPH BANNER, SR., brother 
to EPHRAIM , whose death was announced last week, is not more. He died at his 
residence in the vicinity of Germanton, Stokes County, on the 22nd inst. and 
in the 89th year of his age, 49 of which was spent in Christian devotion.
