MEADOWS, Major   		Aug 28, 1818 – Feb 2, 1872
“The Lord gave, and the Lord hath taken away:  Blessed be the name of the 
Lord” Job 1:21
(In the 1860 Stokes Co., NC census, pg. 121, image 243, Major and Amanda head 
up a household comprised of themselves and 10 children.  In 1870, we find that 
they had added 4 additional children in the 10 years past, but only 7 are 
living at home.
