It is possible that Levata and Tonzo Smith, children of W.L. and M. A. Smith 
are the children of William L. and Melissa A. Smith. In 1900, it was noted 
that Melissa had given birth to 7 children, 5 of whom were living.  Their 
first child was born in Feb of 1884, so it would be feasible that Levada could 
have arrived in 1885. There also is a gap in years from a son born in 1891 to 
a daughter born in 1897—again, Tonzo, born in 1893, would fit. In the 1910 
census,the Smiths were living in Boyles, Stokes Co., NC. and stated they had 
given birth to 8 children, only 5 of whom were living.  Additionally, their 
youngest child, a girl, was named Tonza.
