Marriage Bond for Israel Robinson and Jane "Jenny" Fair 1-11-1807.

Stokes Co., NC. Marriage Bond.  Stokes County, Know all Men by these 
presents, that we (blank space) in the State aforesaid, are held and firmly 
bound unto the Govenor of the State of North Carolina for the time being, 
in the safe and full sum of Five Hundred Pounds, current money of this 
state, to be paid to the said Govenor, or his successors or assigns; to 
thee which payment well and truly to be made and done, we bind ourselves, 
our heirs, executors and administrators.  Sealed with out seals, and dated 
this 11th day of Janaury Anno Domini 1807.  The condition of the above 
obligation is such, that whereas the above bounden Israel ROBINSON hath 
made application for a License for a Marriage to be celebrated between him 
and Jenny FAIRE of the county aforesaid.  Now, in case it shall not appear 
hereafter that there is any lawful cause or impediment to obstruct the said 
marriage, then the above obligation to be void, otherwise to remain in full 
force and virtue. Signed:  Israel ROBINSON (seal) and Vincent BROWN 
(seal).  *Note:  Bride's last name on various documents sometime listed as 
Fair, Fare or Faire.
