Marriage Bond for William Robinson and Mary Fair 8-12-1814.

  Stokes Co., NC. Marriage Bond (Lawson).  Stokes County, Know all Men by 
these presents, that we William ROBISON & Israel ROBISON are held and 
firmly bound until William HAWKINS, Govenor, or his successor in office, in 
the sum of FIVE HUNDRED POUNDS, current money, to be paid to the said 
Govenor, his successors or assigns; for thee which payment, well and truly 
to be made and done, we bind ourselves, our heirs, executors and 
administrators, jointly and severally, firmly by these presents.  Sealed 
with our seals, and dated this 12th day of August Anno Domini, 1814.  The 
condition of the above obligation is such, that whereas the above bounden 
William ROBISON hath made application for a LICENSE for a MARRIAGE to be 
celebrated between him and Mary FAIRE of the county aforesaid.  Now, in 
case it shall not appear hereafter that there is any lawful cuase or 
impediment to obstruct the said marriage, then the above obligation to be 
void, otherwise to remain in full force and virtue. Signed:  William 
ROBINSON (seal) and Israel ROBINSON (seal).  *Note:  Bride's name on 
various documents listed as Fair, Fare and Faire.

North Carolina" (1741-1868) by Catherine A. JACKSON, copyright, 1977, North 
Carolina Division of Archives and History.  Record #02-258, Bond 
#000141203.  Bondsman:  Isreal ROBINSON.  Bride's name listed in error as 
Mary FAIRE.
