Will for Mary Ann (Guinn) Fair/Fare: Last Will & Testament of Mary Ann (Guin) FAIR. "In the name of God, Amen, I Mary Ann FARE of Stokes County and State of North Carolina being weak and feeble in body but sound and perfect in mind and memory do this first day of September in the year of our Lord One thousand Eight Hundred and Twenty three make and ordain this to be my last Will and Testament in manner and form following. That is to say, First I wish that all of my just debts and funeral charges be paid out of my Estate by my Executors; Secondly, my will is that John FARE have one hundred acres of land surveyed and taken off including the house and plantation where he now lives agreeable to the Last Will and Testament of his father Michael FARE, deceased; 3rd, I give and bequeath unto my son Robert Crawford FARE one half of my homestead tract of land including the house were he is now living, after John FARE's one hundred acres is laid off as above directed, to him and his heirs forever; 4th, I give and bequeath unto my son Barnabas FARE Eighty Acres of land being the same more or less lying on the waters of Lick Creek adjoining John QUILLIAN's land and Eighty dollars in money to him and his heirs forever; 5th, I give and bequeath unto my son William Dobson FARE one half of my homestead tract of land including the house where I now live and and devise Fifty dollars in money when the said William Dobson FARE shall arrive at the age of twenty one years to him and his heirs forever; 6th, I give and bequeath unto my daughter Mary, the wife of William ROBENSON, fifty dollars in money to her and her heirs forever; 7th, I give and bequeath unto my daughter Elizabeth FARE one Glass mug and Three Hundred and Twenty Dollars in money to be paid to her when she arrives at the age of Eighteen years to her and her heirs forever; 8th, I give and bequeath unto my daughter Mary Ann FARE one Gilded pitcher & one Gilded mug and Three Hundred and twenty Dollars in money to her and her heirs forever to be paid unto her the said Mary FARE when she shall arrive at the age of Eighteen years; 9th, I give and bequeath unto my sons Barnabas and William Dobson all my bedding and bed furniture to be equally divided between them by my sister Elizabeth DOBSON , if living, and put in their possession by my Executor or their Guardian when they shall arrive of the age of twenty one years; 10th, my wish and desire is that all my negroes, my bay horse, my meat cattle, hogs & sheep, Geese & all my household and kitchen furniture, my horse livery, farming tools of every kind, my weavers loom and all or every part or parcel of property which I now own, possess, have in my possession as my right & property, except such articles of property as I have otherwise disposed of in this my Will, be sold by my Executors on a twelve month credit, likewise all my corn, wheat and Tobacco, corn fodder, etc. My will and desire is that after the above bequeaths of money are taken out of the money arising from the sale of my mare and negroes and outstanding debts collected and all my just debts paid and other charges paid, the balance then remaining be equally divided between my three sons or their heirs (Viz) Robert Crawford, Barnabas & William Dobson. My will is that the money coming to those of my children under age be put out to draw interest until they arrive at the age of their manhood and that they have the same. My will further is that part of the land and plantation coming to my son William Dobson be rented out quarterly by my Executor or his Guardian noting to keep the same in good repair until my son William Dobson arrives at the age of twenty one years and the money arising yearly be equally divided at the expiration of each year between my three youngest children (Viz) William Dobson, Elizabeth and Mary Ann for their support. I do hereby denounce and make void all former Wills and Testaments by me at any time heretofore made, Testifying, Confirming and Establishing this and no other to be my Last Will and Testament and I do hereby nominate, appoint and order my beloved son Robert Crawford FARE, Executor of this my last Will and Testament to carry the same into effect". In Witness whereof the said Mary Ann FARE hath hereunto set her hand and affixed her seal the day and year above written. Signed, sealed, published, declared and pronounced by Mary Ann FARE, the Testator, as her Last Will and Testament in the presence of us who were present at the time of signing and sealing hereof.
