First and principally of all I recommend my soul into the hands of Almighty God, and body to the earth to be buried in decent Christian burial. And is touching such worldly estate as it hath pleased God to bless me with; my will and desire is that my funeral expenses, and all my just debts that I may be owing at the time of dissolution be paid out of my estate, as soon as convenient after my decease, and as touching the residue of my estate, First I give and bequeath unto my beloved wife Catharine, the tract of land whereon I now live for and during her natural life or widowhood. I further give and bequeath unto my said wife Catharine, all my stock of horses, Cattle, hogs, and sheep, all my household and kitchen furniture, and farming tools, together with every other article of property of whatever nature or description that I may die prospered of, for and during her natural life, or widowhood as above mentioned. It is further my will and desire that my said wife Catharine have the amount of all debts that may be owing to me at the time of my decease for her own use and benefit. It is also my will and desire that in case my said wife Catharine should marry again, that some fit and suitable person should administer on my estate, and make sale and sell all the property which may be found belonging to my estate both real and personal on a reasonable credit and the monies arising from the sale of said property to be equally divided between all my children. And if at any time my said wife Catharine should adjudge it necessary to dispose of any of the property which she may have in hand it is my will and desire that she make sale of said property either publicly or privately as she may think proper and apply the proceeds to her use and benefit. I hereby nominate, constitute, and appoint my beloved wife Catharine Tuttle, Executrix of this my last will and testament in witness whereof I hereunto set my hand and affix my seal this third day of December in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and thirty seven.
