Surry County, NC – William Doss - Act to Appoint, 1829 ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ An Act to amend an act, passed in the year eighteen hundred and twenty- six, to appoint commissioners to superintend the building a court house in the county of Surry, and for other purposes Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of North Carolina, and it is hereby enacted by the authority of the same, That William Doss be, and he is hereby appointed a commissioner to superintend the building of a court house in the county of Surry, agreeable to the provisions of the above recited act; and as such shall be vested with full power and authority with the commissioners heretofore appointed. And be it further enacted, That the County Court of said county be, and hereby is authorised to appoint further commissioners when they shall deem it necessary; and the commissioner or commissioners so appointed shall possess the same power and authority as the commissioners appointed by the above recited act.
