Surry County, NC – Matthew M. Hughes - Act to Erect Dam, 1829

An Act to authorise Matthew M. Hughes, of the county of Surry, to
erect a dam across Fisher's river

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of North Carolina, 
and it is hereby enacted by the authority of the same, That from and
after the passage of this act, Matthew M. Hughes, of Surry county,
shall have, and he is hereby granted leave to build or erect a dam
across Fisher's river, in the county aforesaid; any law, usage or
custom to the contray notwithstanding.
