STATE OF NORTH CAROLINA       COURT OF PLEAS & QUARTER SESSIONS
SURRY   COUNTY           August Term, 1847

WILLIAM M. LINDSAY and others 

Vs.

JOHN STURDIVANT and his wife, POLLY STURDIVANT, and THOMAS LINDSAY

(Kind of suit not given) 

It appearing to the satisfaction of the Court that the  defendants, JOHN 
STURDIVANT and his wife, POLLY STURDIVANT, and THOMAS LINDSAY, are  not 
inhabitants of this state: it is therefore ordered by the Court that 
publication be made for six successive weeks in the Patriot, a newspaper 
printed in Greensboro, that unless the said Defendants appear at our next 
Court to be held for the County of Surry  in the Court House at Rockford  2nd 
Monday in November next ,   and  plead, answer, or demur to this petition, 
judgment will be taken pro confesso and heard ex parte as to him..

August, 1847
