SURRY   COUNTY          February Term, 1848

The Heirs at Law of WILLIAM FORKNER, deceased


Petition for Division of Land 

It appearing to the satisfaction of the Court that the  defendants, ISAAC 
FORKNER, BURRELL BADGET and ELIZA BADGET, his wife; the children of PLEASANT 
FORKNER, deceased; the children of MARTIN FORKNER, deceased; the children of 
LEWIS FORKNER, deceased; the children of CORY HARRIS, deceased, and a part of 
the children of VIOLET JACKSON, deceased, to wit: LOUISA, ARMSTED and LUCKY, 
are  not inhabitants of this state: it is therefore ordered by the Court that 
publication be made for six successive weeks in the Patriot, a newspaper 
printed in Greensboro, that unless the said Defendants appear at our next 
Court to be held for the County of Surry  in the Court House at Rockford  2nd 
Monday in May  next ,   and  plead, answer, or demur to this petition, 
judgment will be taken pro confesso and heard ex parte as to them, and the 
same ordered agreeably to the prayer of the plaintiff’s petition.

Witness, F. K. ARMSTRONG, Clerk of said Court, at office on the 2nd Monday of 
February, 1848
