SURRY   COUNTY           Nov. Term, 1843

H. M. and J. A. WAUGH

Vs.

SAMUEL FORKNER

Original Attachment levied on Defendant’s interest in several Negroes, Viz: 
BEN, CHARLES, TRIAL, BETTY, NICY, TENAB, and HANNAH, now in possession of 
SUSANNAH FORKNER. 

It appearing to the satisfaction of the Court that the  defendant, SAMUEL 
FORKNER,is not an  inhabitant of this state: it is therefore ordered by the 
Court that publication be made for six successive weeks in the Patriot, a 
newspaper printed in Greensboro, that unless the said Defendants appear at our 
next Court to be held for the County of Surry  in the Court House at Rockford  
2nd Monday in February ,   and  plead, answer, or demur to this petition, 
judgment will be taken pro confesso and heard ex parte as to them and the 
lands ordered to be sold agreeable to the prayers of the petitioners

November , 1843.
