Surry County Record of Deeds, Daniel Pilcher to Phoebe Pilcher This endture made this first day of February in the year of our Lord, one thousand seven hundred ninety (1790), and is the fourteenth year of Americas Independence between Daniel Pilcher of the County of Surry, and the State of North Carolina, of the one part, and Phoebe Pilcher of the same County, and State, a foresaid of the new part. That for and in compliance with his Fathers will and desire, I the said Daniel do make this aknowledgement that is to say I give to my mother Phoebe Pilcher seventy (70) acres of land on the waters of the North Deep Creek. Beginning at a black oak on the East side of my plantation, to have and to hold the above said seventy acres of land during her natural life, that she the said Phoebe Pilcher, shall and may during her life live quietly, and peaceably, and enjoy the above granted land and premisses without any molestation of any person or persons, what so ever. In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and offered my seal the day and year first above written. Daniel Pilcher.
