Know all men by these present that I John Shore of the County of Surry, and the State of North Carolina, for in consideration to the sum of three hundred and fifty dollars (350) issued in hand paid money by Daniel Pilcher have bargained and sold and delivered, unto Daniel Pilcher one Negro girl named Gracy, about nineteen years of age. I do warrant and defaud unto the Daniel Pilcher his heirs, and asign the said negro girl, clear of any just claims, or claiming of any person as witness my hand and seal this twenty-second day of December, 1813.
