C., November 10, 1828, when his age was about 71 years. He lived in Westmoreland County, Va, When he entered the service as a private from February 1778 until March 19, 1779, under Captains Henry Fauntleroy and Bentley and Colonels Richard Parger and Gaskins in the Virginia troops and subsequently in Virginia militia on Garrison duty in the Northern Neck of Virginia until the close of the War. He stated that he was in the battle of Monmouth. In 1828 his wife was living and a step daughter was living with them but the names are not given.
