I, Thomas Addaman of the County of Surry and State of North Carolina being well in health, and of sound and perfect mind and understanding, having his memory and the knowledge of mortality my body and that it is appointed to die, I do make and ordain this my last Will and Testament, and principally the first of all I recommend my soul into the hand of God that give it first hoping it will be restored to me again by the almighty power of the Lord almighty, and my body to the Grave, to be interred with a decent Christian Burial, at the discretion of my Executors, and as touching my wordly (sic) Goods, which God has in my Lifetime, was pleased to bless me with, I give and dispose off in the following manner and form: After all my lawfull (sic) debts are paid, premises all I leave to my beloved wife Miserly (sp?) to posess and enjoy my Land and all that I posess as long as She lives, and after her decease, I give and bequeath to Reubin Mathews my sister eldest son part of the tenements of Land that is whereon he now lives, and so up the said river to the Fish dam fords, and from thence opposite to a small Branch, and up to said Branch to the head, and thence a due West course, till stricking the main Creek, called Tom’s creek, so up the said Creek to the back Line, also my wearing Clothes and riding Saddle. I also give and bequeath to Esekiah Forrester one Feather bed and furniture to the amount of Ten pounds hard money. I also give and bequeath to Nancy Forrester my wifes youngest daughter, the Bed, that is now called hers with the furniture, also the Cattle that are called hers with the Increase, also twenty pounds in hard money and her mothers wedding saddle. I now give and bequeath, to William and John Forrester, all the rest of my Lands and tenements and moveable Goods to be equally divided between them both, and do hereby appoint and constitute William and John Forrester Executors of this my Last Will and Testament, being heretofore made, acknowledging and confirming this and no other, to be my Last Will and Testament. In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal, this 5th day of January, signed, sealed, pronounced and declared, the said Thomas Addaman, this to be my Last Will and Testament in the presence of us.
